Tell Rep. Lamar Smith: #ExxonKnew And We Won't Back Down.
Texas Representative Lamar Smith, and the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology has subpoenaed Attorneys General Maura Healey of Massachusetts and Eric Schneiderman of New York, and other climate allies for their work on #ExxonKnew. It’s time to send a message: WE WON’T BACK DOWN.
The 10 members of Congress who signed attack letters to climate allies have collectively received nearly $85,000 in contributions from ExxonMobil in the last decade alone. Smith himself got $432,150 from the oil and gas industry since 2008. No wonder they’re subpoenaing nonprofits and not Exxon.
This counter-investigation by Exxon cronies in the House of Representatives is a sham, and it is more evidence that Exxon is terrified of having its climate deception get dragged into the light of day.
Please add you name to this call -- fraud is not free speech. Lamar Smith and Exxon need to back off and let state attorneys general and climate allies keep working for the answers we all deserve -- When did Exxon know about climate change and what did it do to hide it?
